How we work

The Breed Book Team is a small group of researchers and builders, a little too obsessed with dogs, who put every guide together from published veterinary and breed-club sources. We are not your veterinarian, and we say so plainly: our job is to gather the best available information, cite it, and make it genuinely useful, then point you to a professional for anything medical.

Health and medical content is researched and cited from veterinary and breed-club sources. When a licensed veterinarian has personally reviewed a specific article, we credit them by name at the top of that article. If you do not see a named reviewer, the piece has been researched and sourced but not individually vet-reviewed, and it is general information only, never a substitute for your own vet. Our calculators use published veterinary formulas. If you ever spot something wrong or out of date, please tell us, accuracy matters more to us than being right.
